Saif Ali Khan has grown since Ek Hasina Thi : Sriram Raghavan

Director Sriram Raghavan and actor Saif Ali Khan first worked together in ‘ Ek Hasina Thi’. It was the first time that the Pataudi nawab played a negative role on screen. Directed by Sriram, the Urmila Matondkar film rocked the box office, giving onscreen lover boy Saif, a makeover.
The hit duo once again have come together in ‘ Agent Vinod’. Produced by Saif, the film not only sees the actor don the cape of a superhero but also helm his dream project. Sharing his experience of directing Saif again, Sriram says, ” Saif has grown since our first time together. He is a fabulous actor and producer to work with. He doesn’t play the two roles at the same time.” The director further adds, ” I had worked with Saif in ‘ Ek Hasena Thi’, but at the time Saif was still considered a newbie.
However this time, Saif is not only a big star but his character in the film is very strong. ou wouldn’t agree with what he does in the film, he has his own conventional ways. But it is a real film, with lots of fun and a modern look and feel to it.”
Sriram also seems to be charmed by the leading lady of the film, Kareena Kapoor. Describing her as the perfect ‘ director’s actor’, he says, ” Kareena has a very substantial role to play, and is not a part of the film just for namesake. Her role is not an easy one, but Kareena has done her work quite well. For an actor who is doing so many films in between, she never had a problem giving extra dates for this project.” As a filmmaker, Sriram has always made small budget films, however this one is a big budget film made on grand scale. The film also has an item number performed by Kareena. What’s different though, is the item number is in form of a ‘ mujra’ that takes place in the story when Agent Vinod is in Karachi. The song has been choreographed by Saroj Khan, and is seen as a song that would bring back the dance form onscreen.
