Ever since Karan Johar revealed that the sequel to his Student of the Year is on the cards, there has been a whole lot of speculation about the film’s star cast.

Alia, Sidharth and Varun cleared the air by saying that they are not reuniting in Student of the Year 2 while some others expressed their desire to be part of the franchise.

Now buzz is that Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara and Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khattar are in talks with Karan Johar for SOTY 2 and if all goes well, the two will be making their Bollywood debut with the film.

Earlier we told you that Karan Johar was to launch Sara opposite Ishaan in a very ‘unusual’ love story. Karan Johar however, hasn’t confirmed the star cast yet.

Both Sara and Ishaan have harboured acting ambitions since childhood.

In an interview some time ago, Saif was quoted saying, “Yes, she (Sara) wants to join films, but currently she is at Columbia University and doing very well. I want her to focus on her studies. Look at Soha. She has a degree from London School of Economics and she is now into movies. I think the girls in my family think this (Bollywood) is far more fun. Yes, perhaps it is.”

On the other hand, Ishaan worked as an assistant director in Shahid’s film Udta Punjab also starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh. Shahid is actively involved in his kid brother’s grooming. He had even said in an earlier interview that he thinks Ishaan is a better dancer than he is. Now that’s saying a lot.
