Actor, Producer, Royalty – Saif Ali Khan is a persona that needs no introduction to those who follow the silver screen. The acclaimed Bollywood star has won accolades for his appearances on the screen over the years that he’s been involved with Bollywood. The award boards too have agreed with the fans, as the actor has gone on to win a National Film Award as well as multiple Filmfare Awards. He’s even been bestowed with the coveted Padma Shri award by the government for his outstanding contribution to the film industry.

The young Nawaab of Pataudi has been known for his fine taste in automobiles. His collection includes many a fancy set of wheels, but the one we’ll talk about today is the Mercedes Benz E-Class that he has. One from the W212 generation, the E-Class is the executive luxury saloon of choice for motorists the world over. The epitome of mid-sized luxury sedan success, the E-Class has had a long production run & has ushered in many a feature that has been aped by manufacturers around the world.

First introduced as the 2010 model year edition, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class W212 series went on to cement the manufacturer’s position at the top of the luxury saloon market with its many innovative features. It was also laden with enough safety tech that was befitting the three-pointed star sitting proudly on the hood. The car could detect when the driver was likely to be experiencing drowsiness behind the wheel; it had lane-departure warning systems, etc. The suspension too was the adaptive type as were the seats. A true tour-de-force in its segment, that’s what it was.

Bollywood had long been a supporter of cutting edge tech & the finer things in life. It was no surprise then to see Saif Ali Khan, who’s been known for his love for wheels and the good life, bring home the E-Class and enjoy what is potentially the best mid-size, luxury saloon in the world. The star who’s known for his evergreen role in movies such as Khiladi in the Nineties & Dil Chahta Hai in the early 2000’s has had his career shape up beautifully over the years. He is now due to grace the big screen in the period war drama titled Rangoon. The movie is scheduled to hit theatres sometime during the festive season after the monsoons. Directed by award winning director Vishal Bharadwaj, the movie is set against the backdrop of World War II.
