Out of Comfort Zone: Saif Ali Khan in Chef

It’s not every day that Bollywood stars sign films that call for skills over and above acting. Times are changing, and going offbeat doesn’t necessarily mean opting for arthouse cinema as was the case even a few years ago. Filmmakers are bringing in new and evolved concepts even in mainstream movies, and our actors are lapping them up with immense enthusiasm. And we aren’t just talking about losing or gaining weight for a particular film here. Moving out of their comfort zones, Bollywood actors are doing everything it takes to remove the stereotype tags — from wrestling to cooking to shedding their starry image for a dwarfed look. Have a look:

Saif Ali Khan in Chef

Father-to-be Saif Ali Khan’s career needs a hit following the debacle of his last few releases — Bullet Raja, Happy Ending, Phantom. In search of that magical role, Saif will portray the character of a chef in the Indian adaptation of Hollywood film Chef. To master the role, Chote Nawab will train under top chefs and will learn culinary skills. Now that’s a lot for royalty.
