A few weeks ago, news broke that Saif has been replaced by Sidharth Malhotra, but clearing the air, a source told a daily, “Saif is still very much a part of the film. He has definitely not walked out or been replaced. He will soon start prepping and shoot for it next year.”

Earlier Saif confirmed the news about signing the film. He said, “Yes there is. It is a little early to talk. We haven’t signed it yet. There is a little bit of talk. It is yet to be pen to paper. But in principle, it is very much on but it is a little early to talk. But since you have heard of it, so well ya.”

Will the release date for Saif Ali Khan’s Baazaar be changed?

Posted in Movies with tags , , , , , on February 6, 2018 by saifalikhanonline

Saif Ali Khan is not going through a great time in his career. He has had consecutive flops and now, the failure of his other films might have caused a ripple effect on his upcoming film Baazaar. “The film was supposed to release last year in December but then the shoot wasn’t complete so the team decided to push it ahead to April 27. At that point, there was no 2.0, but trade is abuzz with news of the sci-fi mega budget film starring Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth picking the same day for a worldwide release. If that happens, Saif and Nikkhil Advani will have no choice but to shift their film again. After all, this clash will be detrimental for their film.” Will Saif budge or will the clash happen? Let’s see!

He is one of the first mainstream actors to dabble with the digital platform and Saif Ali Khan believes his stint in a web series is only a way forward, not a step down.

The actor, 47, features in Netflix’s upcoming original show Sacred Games and said he felt liberated as a performer while working on the web series.

“It is not, in any way, a come down; but a step in a new direction for me as an actor. It is very liberating as an actor to have a platform like Netflix,” Saif, whose last big-screen release was Kaalakaandi, said.

The actor said web series were the next in-thing and he “jumped at the idea” of doing one when he was offered the project.

“There is a certain quality to Netflix, it is not (typical). It has an international feel to it. Also, Vikramaditya Motwane is a wonderful director, and is a responsible show runner. He is comparing us to House of Cards. It is going to be the best show coming out of India and I am hopeful everyone will be proud of it,” he said.

The series, based on Vikram Chandra’s novel of the same name, will be directed by Motwane and Anurag Kashyap.

Saif, who has begun shooting, said he has read parts of the book and the series, which includes Nawaz-uddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte was quite different.
