Unleashing his quirky and unconventional side yet again in this dark comedy is Saif Ali Khan and we received a glimpse of the same in the recently released teaser of Kaalakaandi. The actor will turn a year older on August 16 and just two days before the same, the makers of this film are planning to release the trailer of the film.

As of now, Saif Ali Khan has taken off on a vacation with his family – wife Kareena Kapoor Khan and his son Taimur to Gstaad in Switzerland. However, the actor is expected to be back this weekend, right in time to attend the trailer launch of Kaalakaandi. It seems that director Akshat Verma and the rest of the film’s team thought that having this trailer launch before Saif’s special day will be a great pre-birthday gift for the actor.

The trailer launch, we hear, will have the entire ensemble cast of Kaalakaandi, which includes Vijay Raaz, Sobhita Dhulipala, Akshay Oberoi, Shenaz Treasury, Kunaal Roy Kapur and Deepak Dobriyal. As for the film, it is slated to release on September 8.

Saif Ali Khan’s mum Sharmila Tagore turned 71. Happy Birthday!

Posted in General with tags , , , on December 10, 2015 by saifalikhanonline

Being an icon for over four decades, Sharmila Tagore continues to sprinkle her charm even today as she enters into 71st year of her life. Starting her career at an early age of 13, the actress shattered the stereotypes in Indian Cinema with her choice of roles and their phenomenal depiction on the big screen.

The gorgeous actress made her acting debut with Satyajit Ray’s Bengali film ‘Apur Sansar’ in 1959 and then gradually achieved new heights of stardom. At a time when women were cast in secondary characters, Tagore achieved a rare combination of commercial and critical success with films like Tapan Sinha’s ‘Nirjan Saikate’, Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s ‘Anupama’ or Shakti Samanta’s ‘Kashmir Ki Kali.’

A part of the famous Tagore family, Sharmila continued her glorified run in the film industry even after her marriage to Indian cricketing legend Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi.

Mother of actors Saif Ali Khan and Soha Ali Khan, Tagore received the civilian honour ‘Padma Bhushan’ in 2013. She had also won two National Awards and two Filmfare Awards which only proves her prowess as an actress.

She first received the National Award for Best Actress in 1975 for her performance in Mausam and later again for Best Supporting Actress in 2003 for Abar Aranye.

Her dignified position in the film industry can be judged from the fact that she was appointed the chief of Indian Film Censor Board in October 2004 and she remained on the post till March 2011.

Today, as she is turning 71, we wish this legendary actress a very Happy Birthday and hope she continues to spill her magic on the audiences forever.

Ibrahim is the ladies man at papa Saif Ali Khan’s birthday bash

To bring in his birthday, the nawab usually takes off to London with his begum. But this year, it was a working birthday, since Saif Ali Khan has been busy promoting Phantom with Katrina Kaif. He raised a toast to his 45th year, with a quiet celebration at his Bandra home.

Dressed in jeans and a tee, he was his usual courteous self escorting guests from the parking lot. Arbaaz Khan and wife Malaika were the first to arrive, with Amrita Arora and Babita Kapoor following. Sister Soha came with husband Kunal Kemmu and nephew Ibrahim, who is a splitting image of his dad. The 15-yearold charmer is known for the party selfies he posts.

“Ibrahim was the life of the party. He wowed guests with the one-liners he pulled out of his sleeve. He got ribbed for being a ‘ladies man’, with pointed references to his post where he is sandwiched between Anurag Kashyap’s daughter Aaliya and Sridevi’s daughter, Khushi,” laughed a guest from the party.

There was no music and dancing since Kareena Kapoor has been unwell all week. She asked her director, R Balki, for a two-day break from the shoot of Ki and Ka. Reel life husband, Arjun Kapoor, was left holding court, while Bebo kept her better half company. She plans to extend her break and will only return to the sets on Monday.

Sister Karisma, who returned on Saturday from a week-long holiday in Dubai, and besties, Amrita and Malaika, took Bebo out to brunch at their favourite cafe in Pali Hill. “She’s been shooting for the last three weeks and this was her first break. She has not been feeling too well and planned a gluten-free dinner with the girls,” said the source.

Later, the girls were back for Saif’s birthday which ended in the wee hours with the birthday boy stumming his guitar and the ladies crooning. “It was a perfect evening,” smiles the guest.
