In 2017, Saif Ali Khan is ready with back to back four films. While, Rangoon has already released, Kalakaandi, Chef, and Bazaar are ready to hit the screens soon. Saif’s Chef is going to release in October and there were rumours that his another film Baazaar was supposed to release in December.

There were reports the makers wanted to release the film on Christmas weekend, now everyone knows which film is going to release on Christmas. The Christmas weekend is always been profitable for films so, Salman Khan is coming with Tiger Zinda Hai on that weekend.

However, according to some trade analysts, Saif will never allow his films to clash with one of his close friends and superstar Salman’s film. Although both the films Baazaar and Tiger Zinda Hai are different genre films, still no one will take the risk to stand against Salman Khan.

This is to notice that John Abraham starring film Parmanu is going to release on 8th December and then 15th December week is free, so makers can think of that week for Baazaar.

Earlier this week, Saif Ali Khan hosted a private get-together at his Bandra residence for his director-friends. Present at the brain-storming bash were Airlift-director Raja Krishna Menon, Delhi Belly writer Akshat Verma, TV show P.O.W. Bandi Yuddh Ke’s writer-director Gauravv Chawla, NH10 director Navdeep Singh and Udaan filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane, along with Saif’s Bazaar co-star Rohan Mehra. Saif’s begum, Kareena Kapoor, and little nawab, Taimur, were in Delhi for the shoot of Shashanka Ghosh’s film, Veere Di Wedding, but the actor played the perfect host, arranging a lavish spread of kebabs and other finger food and the choicest of drinks for his band of boys.

“Conversation revolved around the changing face of Hindi cinema, the future of digital media and the need for unique content. Saif, who has his own production house, is looking to collaborate on projects across mediums and found the discussion very stimulating,” informed a guest present at the dinner. The guests departed late after midnight promising the host that they would sit together again for more such creative sessions soon.

And this was not the first of such meetings. “Saif wants to understand and explore diverse genres and has been quietly building a bank of content, meeting with other filmmakers and writers as well,” the guest added.

The first look of Gauravv K Chawla’s thriller Baazaar was unveiled last week by the producer and his longtime collaborator Nikkhil Advani. Saif Ali Khan dominated the poster and a silhouette figure engulfed him in the background.

The figure was later revealed to be Rohan Mehra, the son of late veteran actor Vinod Mehra, who will make his acting debut with this film. However, there is no trace of the leading lady of the film. Now, is it reported that the makers have signed Radhika Apte for the film.

Co-producer Madhu Bhojwani said, “It is a performance-oriented character and we wanted someone who could take the audience by surprise. Keeping that in mind, we think Radhika fits the bill. She is a fine actress.”

Apte is currently shooting for R Balki’s social drama Padman opposite Akshay Kumar. The report by The Asian Age quotes Bhojwani as saying, “Radhika is the powerhouse of talent, who has a lot of potential. Baazaar will give her a platform unlike any of the projects that she has been associated with in the past. Her character will have different layers and will be seen in a different avatar in this film.”

It was earlier reported that Baazaar has scope for two leading ladies to be cast opposite Saif and Rohan each. Initially, it was speculated that Nimrat Kaur will be cast opposite Saif and Fatima Sana Shaikh opposite Rohan. However, Shaikh went on to sign Vijay Krishna Acharya’s period drama Thugs of Hindostan later which reduced her chances of working in Baazaar.

While Apte has been roped in to play a part now, it has not been revealed the male actor she will be cast opposite. Also, there is no word of confirmation on who the other leading lady is.

Baazaar is slated to release in December this year.

Nikkhil Advani on working with Saif Ali Khan for Bazaar

Posted in Movies with tags , , , , , on June 23, 2017 by saifalikhanonline

While talking about his upcoming project, Bazaar, starring Saif Ali Khan, filmmaker Nikkhil Advani opens up about his entertainment company Emmay Entertainment and how it is not a ‘Bollywood Camp’, rather it works out talents to churn out content-driven films.

Meet Nikkhil Advani and you’ll know why progressive content on digital plays an important role in the making of our country. The director-general opens up about how his entertainment company Emmay Entertainment is not a ‘Bollywood Camp’ and works out with talent to churn out content driven films, and how Indian filmmakers are taking the next step by making web-series.

Since you have jumped into making digital content too, do you think the content available on Indian digital platforms is progressive enough?
I definitely think digital content in India today is progressive. I mean I may not agree to a certain things as a viewer, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have progressive content on the internet in India. Look at the Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor roast, they pushed those boundaries which you can’t push do when it comes to feature films or Indian television. Even the other stuff that TVF guys are doing, or couple of short films that Rasika Dugal has done, or this short film called School Bag I saw last night, it’s good! So progressive in other terms, like the way it is shot or the actors they shoot with, these actors would normally confine to standing three rows behind a big star or a side role but they are too good, so they are getting good roles to play in this space, not necessarily it should always be the content, nonetheless good content is churned out on the internet.

Saif Ali Khan spills the beans on Baazaar

Posted in Movies with tags , , , , , , on June 9, 2017 by saifalikhanonline

It is very uncommon to see Indian filmmakers make movies based around the adrenaline-pumping world of the stock market. Producer Nikkhil Advani (Airlift and Hero) has chosen to walk down the seldom-trodden path with his latest venture Baazaar, which features Saif Ali Khan, debutant Rohan Mehra and Chitrangada Singh in the lead. The last time we had seen Nikkhil and Saif come together for a film, it was for Kal Ho Na Ho (2004) which had Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta in the lead.

While talking about the film, Nikkhil said “It’s been 13 years since Kal Ho Naa Ho, when I last shared creative space with Saif. So, this movie is special for us.”

This movie will see Saif play a shrewd businessman with a rags-to-riches story, who is deemed the uncrowned king of the Indian stock market. If reports are to be believed, Saif had met some real world power sharks of the business world.
