When Saif Ali Khan said Sanjay Dutt should endorse Viagra

Posted in Movies with tags , , , on June 9, 2018 by saifalikhanonline

From Parineeta to the rather forgettable Nehlle Pe Dehlla, Saif Ali Khan and Sanjay Dutt have worked together in a handful of films and share a cordial relationship. So it came as quite a surprise when Saif declared Sanjay as the ideal choice to endorse Viagra.

Saif appeared on the second season of Karan Johar’s chat show with his sister, Soha Ali Khan. During the Rapid Fire round, Saif was asked which star would be the “ideal choice” to endorse Viagra, and without missing a beat, he took Sanjay’s name.

Incidentally, in a later episode of the show, featuring Sanjay and his sister Priya Dutt, the Munna Bhai MBBS actor was asked to react to the word ‘Viagra’, and he cryptically responded with, “Yes and no.”

Meanwhile, a biopic on Sanjay is set to hit the screens next month. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Sanju features Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay Dutt. Talking about the film, Ranbir had said at the trailer launch, “I was always a Sanjay Dutt fan. So for me, it was like a fan trying to play his icon on-screen.”

Sanju, which also features Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala, Vicky Kaushal and Dia Mirza in pivotal roles, is slated to release on June 29, 2018.

Saif Ali Khan steps in to help beti Sara Ali Khan resolve her overlapping dates for Kedarnath and Simmba?

Ever since Sara Ali Khan was signed up for Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath, it was known that this romance saga would mark the Bollywood debut of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s daughter. The agency, which manages her work, had committed the dates till July to the Kai Po Che filmmaker. At that time, the 20-something debutante hadn’t signed any other film.

However, when Kedarnath got stuck due to the tussle between Abhishek and KriArj Entertainment (co-owned by Prernaa Arora and Arjun N Kapoor), many doubted the future of the film that also starred Sushant Singh Rajput. Then, Sara was offered the leading lady’s part in Karan Johar and Rohit Shetty’s joint production, Simmba. Given the uncertainty over Gattu’s film, the young star kid signed up for the Ranveer Singh-starrer and her agency, apparently, allotted dates to it. Back then, the talk was that this could be Sara’s debut as it’s slated to release on December 28, this year.

Saif Ali Khan on producing a film for Sara Ali Khan: These things are best left for people like Karan Johar

Posted in Saif Ali Khan with tags , , , , , on January 22, 2018 by saifalikhanonline

Actor Saif Ali Khan says he would love to produce a film for daughter Sara Ali Khan, but would want everything to be “too perfect” and does not think he will be able to do the job properly.

Actor Saif Ali Khan is “ super proud” and “super excited” about his daughter Sara Ali Khan’s debut in the upcoming film Kedarnath. The actor, however, says that he would have loved to launch his daughter through his production house, but feels his emotions as a father would have stopped him from giving his daughter the perfect launch pad.

“The other day she asked me, ‘why don’t you make a movie under Illuminati films (his production house)’? I would have loved to launch her, and I would have been extremely proud to do that. But I think I would want everything to be perfect, and would have accepted nothing less. That would have been such a big responsibility that I would have stopped working,” he says. “Plus I am not really a producer and it’s not my main area of expertise, so these things are best left for people like Karan Johar, I believe,” he adds.

14 years of Kal Ho Naa Ho: 14 unforgettable things about the Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Preity Zinta film

Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions boasts of candy-floss films made on a larger than life canvas. While KJo doesn’t mind selling dreams through his films, some of them have become an integral part of our growing up years. And one such movie is Kal Ho Naa Ho. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan, this one spoke about finding happiness in the most tragic moments of life. Said to be loosely inspired from Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Anand, Kal Ho Naa Ho made us laugh and cry, leaving a mark in our memories.

The Nikhil Advani directorial completes 14 years today. We take a walk through the film to list 14 best things about Kal Ho Naa Ho that are as fresh in our minds even today, as they were in 2003 when it released.

1. Preity Zinta’s glasses

Kal Ho Naa Ho was produced by Karan Johar and starred Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan.

These surely became a rage way back then. The nerdy glasses suited Preity’s dull and boring life well. Soon, we saw teenagers wearing them around, even if they were just meant for a fashion statement!

Saif Ali Khan: “I’m very fond of Kangana and respect her achievements.”

Posted in Saif Ali Khan with tags , , , , , on July 19, 2017 by saifalikhanonline

Saif Ali Khan, Karan Johar and Varun Dhawan took a dig at Kangana Ranaut for starting the Nepotism debate in Bollywood. The trio were of the IIFA Awards 2017 stage and their ‘Nepotism Rocks’ act didn’t go down well with anyone. Looking at all the flak they have been receiving, Varun took to twitter today to apologise. In his tweet, he said, “I express my apology and regret… I am extremely sorry if I have offended or hurt anyone with that act.” After reading Judwaa 2 actor’s tweet, we decided to get in touch with Saif Ali Khan as fans were shocked and upset about the star being a part of this distasteful act.

We asked the actor if in hindsight he feels that this whole ‘nepotism rocks’ incident was better avoided. He said, “I’m very fond of Kangana (Ranaut) and respect her achievements. This whole thing was never meant seriously and I thought it’s a joke against us more than anyone else (as clearly there is more to our achievements than nepotism!!) no harm meant.” Looking at the Rangoon star’s stance, it is clear that he meant no harm.

Saif and Kangana shared the screen for the first time in Rangoon which released earlier this year. The film didn’t work well at the box office, but both their performances were applauded. In fact, Kangana looked extremely comfortable in Saif’s company during the promotions of their film and it seemed that they have bonded well while working on the film.

We are happy that Saif cared to revert and clear his stand on this nepotism act. He proved that he deserves every bit of the respect that he commands in the industry.
