1/15 Story of how Saif Ali Khan prepared for his role in ‘Go Goa Gone’ will leave you puzzled

Raj and DK’s ‘Go Goa Gone’ remains one of the first and only zombie movies Bollywood has ever had. While the fans await the makers to come up with the second instalment of the film, we got hold of a small detail pertaining to the first part.

According to reports, for Saif, who played the role of Boris, it was a task to get into the skin of his character who sported a golden hair and faked a Russian accent. The makers, it is said, came up with an idea to help Saif go ahead with his character. They got him ‘The Zombie Survival Guide’ by Max Brooks which apparently has a hilarious take on a zombie invasion. Needless to say, Saif pulled off his character with ease.

The makers are reportedly now returning with the sequel to the film. The shooting for the film will start in January, next year.

No communication from Centre in Saif Ali Khan case: Cops

While the Union home ministry awaits a report from the Mumbai police on the assault case against actor Saif Ali Khan in connection with his brawl at a Colaba restaurant in February 2012, the police has said that they are yet to receive any such communication from the Central government, despite the letter being sent on August 14, last year. The report was sought after RTI activist Subhash Agrawal demanded that Khan be stripped of his Padma Shri award in light of the criminal investigation against him.

According to a report, the Union ministry report had responded to Mr Agrawal’s application saying that the Mumbai police had been “reminded to expedite the matter” (send the report), in its reply. “I am unaware of any such communication from the Union home ministry for a report on the Saif Ali Khan case since replies to higher authorities are sent through offices of senior officers. I will, however, personally check with the police station,” said additional CP (south region) Krishna Prakash. While senior PI Rameshwar Suple had the same response, ACP (Colaba division) Rajendra Chavan was not available for comment despite repeated attempts.

Saif, who was in the company of his wife Kareena Kapoor Khan, her sister Karisma, actors Malaika Arora Khan, Amrita Arora and his friends Shakeel Ladak and Bilal Amrohi, allegedly assaulted a South Africa-based businessman Iqbal Mir Sharma and his father after Mr Sharma asked them to turn down their noisy banter. Saif first allegedly threatened the businessman and then punched him in the nose following which the actor along with Ladak and Amrohi was arrested on assault charges in response to a complaint filed by Mr Sharma. The incident was captured on the hotel’s CCTV cameras. A chargesheet was filed against the three in December the same year.

Saif Ali Khan satisfied with govt response over Padma Shri controversy

Following the complaint filed by activist SC Agarwal there were rumours that actor Saif Ali Khan may be stripped of the Padma Award given to him in 2010. The activists complaint says that Mr Khan should not be allowed to retain the award-conferred by President Pratibha Patil on him for his contribution as an artist as there is a case in a Mumbai court against the actor for assaulting an Indian businessman from South Africa at the five-star Taj Hotel in Colaba, Mumbai in 2012.

Saif known to be a gentleman within the industry is currently shooting in London. He reacted to this controversy and told the India Today group, “I am extremely satisfied and happy and even proud of the way the govt has responded to the applicant..it is a fair and balanced opinion that should put the matter to rest.?”

The 43-year-old actor allegedly got into a scuffle in February 2012, with a South African based businessman following which a complaint was filed against the actor and his two friends.

Saif clearly in no mood to take the controversy ahead tried to put the matter to rest.

No plan to strip Saif Ali Khan of Padma Shri, govt says

The home ministry on Thursday denied any move to strip actor Saif Ali Khan of his Padma Shri award, conferred on him in 2010, in the wake of a Mumbai court framing charges against him for assaulting an NRI businessman at a city hotel.

“The home ministry’s reply to the RTI filed by S C Agarwal to know the status of his own complaint, stating that the matter is under examination, is a routine response to any query that relates to a pending complaint. The home ministry has to call for necessary records from the state government or the courts to validate the charges made in the complaint … this takes time and the merits of the complaint are finally decided on the basis of these records. Until then, technically, the matter is said to be under examination,” a senior home ministry official said, adding that such a response was not reflective of an endorsement of the complaint.

Though Padma award rules state that the “President may cancel or annul the award of the decoration to any person”, they are silent on the fate of the awardee in the event of his being charged or convicted by a court of law at a later date for any offence.

Saif Ali Khan may lose Padma honour

Posted in Saif Ali Khan with tags , , on August 7, 2014 by saifalikhanonline

The Indian government is examining a demand for taking back the Padma Shri award conferred on Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan in the wake of a Mumbai court framing charges against him.

RTI activist S.C. Agrawal had filed a complaint with the Union Home Ministry on Mar. 14 this year, demanding the actor be stripped of the award conferred in 2010 as the Mumbai court had framed charges against him for an alleged scuffle in a restaurant here.

In response to a subsequent RTI application filed to know the status of his complaint, the Home Ministry has replied to Agrawal that “the matter is under examination.”

The Padma Shri was conferred on Khan, 43, in 2010 for his contribution to the field of art.

Khan and two of his friends — Shakeel Ladak and Bilal Amrohi — recently had charges framed against them under section 325 (assault) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.

It is alleged that Khan had punched a South Africa-based businessman on his nose and hit his father-in-law at a Colaba hotel in February 2012.

Khan and his two friends have pleaded not guilty after the metropolitan court in Mumbai read out the charges to them in March this year.
