She’s the one responsible for the marketing strategy of movies like Ra One and Vicky Donor and has clients like Gauri Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and many other brands apart from a wide list of movies that the company has worked with.

More recently, Saif Ali Khan was signed up for a campaign Bollywood Britain, where he promotes tourism in Britain and yes, Tanaaz’s company was the hand behind the deal. “Saif was the first B’wood star to go to a Burberry show and we were responsible for that project, that is how we came to know Saif. Post that we stayed in touch and when the deal to sign a star for the promotional campaign for Britain came to us, we knew we just had to choose Saif,” she says.

Visit Britain – Saif Ali Khan – London a hot shooting destination for Bollywood

Shah Rukh Khan, Saif Ali Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, the top actors of Bollywood, have openly spoken of their love for United Kingdom. It is not just for the beautiful locales but also for the amicable environment that makes such places like London, Wales, and Oxfordshire common sights seen in movie backdrops.

Popular destinations such as the Thames, Big Ben, London Eye and other landmarks locations can often be spotted in some of the hit Indian films. After Switzerland, which was the top destination for Indian filmmakers previously, the shift has drifted to London.

Katrina Kaif, a London-bred Indian actress, and Akshay Kumar prominently shot in London for the hit film Namaste London. Shah Rukh Khan has had a major love affair with UK as he has started off with the evergreen Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge in 1995, shot extensively in popular attractions including Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Whitehall, Westminster Bridge, Leicester Square and Buckingham Palace. He had also shot for films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham along with Hrithik Roshan and Amitabh Bachchan. His hit film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was shot in exotic locations of Scotland. Late filmmaker Yash Chopra shot his last film in Jab Tak Hai Jaan in London. In fact, the hit number saans, was painstakingly shot in the busy Camden Town. His upcoming film Fan will be the first Bollywood film to be shot in London.

Saif Ali Khan : “My family has a deep connection with Britain”

VisitBritain, the national tourism agency for Britain, has partnered with TUI to introduce ‘Romance in Britain’ holiday packages. All the packages include key Bollywood movie locations spread across Britain including London, Oxford, Manchester, Cardiff in Whales and Edinburgh in Scotland. Also, VisitBritain has appointed Saif Ali Khan, popular actor in the Bollywood industry, as the spokesperson for this campaign.

Speaking about the campaign, Sumathi Ramanathan, regional manager- Asia Pacific and Middle East, VisitBritain said, “VisitBritain has a long relationship with Bollywood, directors have shot films in various locations in Britain from 1960s to 1970s. The new concept which we are promoting is Set Jetting, which is exploring the various locations where the films were shot. This year we are launching this theme Bollywood and Romance to tap the honeymooners segment. Our partners, TUI have developed various packages from three nights to nine night, we have chosen around 50 locations which we will be promoting.”

“In 2013, we have welcomed 375,000 visitors from India which is a 10 per cent increase from 2012. In 2014, till Q3 (January to September) we have received around 312,000 travellers from India (26 per cent increase as compared to the same period in 2013),” added Ramanathan.

Vishal Sinha, chief operating officer, TUI India said, “Britain has always been a favourite destination with the Indian film fraternity. Blockbusters like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and more have been shot here. We have also been getting a lot of queries from Indian honeymooners to visit the country. We have launched a contest for two Indian couples to win their honeymoon to experience the destination.”

Saif Ali Khan said, “I think there is so much that Britain has to offer right from countryside experiences, food and museum to theatre, music and nightlife. My family has a deep connection with Britain as I have completed my education there and also as an actor have shot many movies in this destination.”
