Saif Ali Khan is his witty self, fielding questions on being a ‘nawab, still clinging on to the “hukumat”’ and on turning up for Sonam Kapoor’s wedding in a simple kurta-pajama.

Actor-filmmaker Arbaaz Khan’s online chat show Pinch seems to have become a favourite with stars. The latest star who will grace the show will be Saif Ali Khan. The promo of the show was launched on Monday and had Saif answer some of the questions in his quirky style.

As the promo rolls, questions come rolling over — on being a nawab and still clinging on to rotten ‘hukumat’, he says: “I have never been interested in being a nawab. I prefer eating kebabs.” On turning up at Sonam Kapoor’s wedding in a simple white kurta pajama, he says: “It’s her wedding, not my wedding.” Does he feel the pressure to reply immediately after he have reads something: “I have stopped doing that as some people don’t reply to me. So, then I thought, hey, I don’t have to reply.”

Ali Abbas Zafar, who is gearing up for the release of his Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer Bharat, is now planning to explore the digital world. Reportedly, Ali is all set to produce and direct a digital venture and he may rope in Saif Ali Khan for the project.

A source was quoted saying that Ali will start working on it post Bharat’s release. The source added that Ali believes that digital platforms have great potential. The source also revealed that Saif has been approached for the project and that he has shown ‘keen interest’ in it. If everything goes well, an official announcement will be made soon.

Saif, who marked his digital debut with Sacred Games, is looking forward to the release of Sacred Games 2. He will be seen sharing screen space with Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the much-acclaimed series.

Ali’s Bharat, which is an adaptation of Korean film An Ode To My Father, will release on Eid, 2019. The film also stars Nora Fatehi, Tabu, Jackie Shroff and Disha Patani.

Saif Ali Khan opens up on the success of Sacred Games

In an effort to get the optimum work done without compromising on the quality of work, Netflix has appointed two separate directors to direct the two parallel plots involving Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. While Anurag Kashyap is directing all the episodes featuring the character Ganesh Gaitonde (Siddiqui), Neeraj Ghaiwan (of Masaan fame) directs the episodes featuring Saif Ali Kham as the Sikh cop Sartaj Singh.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that Saif has scored resounding success as a Sardarji. Imtiaz Ali’s Love Aaj Kal where he played the lovelorn Sardar, remains Saif’s most beloved cinematic part to date.

Saif admits Sacred Games is a game-changer in his career and indicative of the rapid changes in the cinematic platform. “The world is different now. Cinema and web are agnostic brothers. Just look at the career of Tom Hardy. He plays any and everything from the hero to villain and he treats the home and theatre media with equal respect. He has his own television show while he rules the big screen.”

Saif is clearly enjoying himself doing Sacred Games for a second season. “They pay so well! And there are talented actors and technicians doing intelligent things: (author) Vikram Chandra, (director Neeraj Ghaywan), (writer) Varun Grover…It’s a lovely environment.”

1/15 Story of how Saif Ali Khan prepared for his role in ‘Go Goa Gone’ will leave you puzzled

Raj and DK’s ‘Go Goa Gone’ remains one of the first and only zombie movies Bollywood has ever had. While the fans await the makers to come up with the second instalment of the film, we got hold of a small detail pertaining to the first part.

According to reports, for Saif, who played the role of Boris, it was a task to get into the skin of his character who sported a golden hair and faked a Russian accent. The makers, it is said, came up with an idea to help Saif go ahead with his character. They got him ‘The Zombie Survival Guide’ by Max Brooks which apparently has a hilarious take on a zombie invasion. Needless to say, Saif pulled off his character with ease.

The makers are reportedly now returning with the sequel to the film. The shooting for the film will start in January, next year.
