Dinesh Vijan talks about working with Saif Ali Khan

He has made various kinds of cinema — dark comedy, spy thriller, cute romances and complex relationships. His cinematic sensibility is cut from a different cloth, often not tailored for the usual Bollywood design. Yet, he makes the cut with subjects that are spiked with a heady mix of characters. Producer Dinesh Vijan, who has backed films like ‘Being Cyrus’, ‘Finding Fanny’, ‘Love Aaj Kal’, ‘Cocktail’ and ‘Badlapur’, turns director with the upcoming ‘Raabta’, starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Kriti Sanon. Saif Ali Khan ready for another Zombie turn

Go Goa Gone, Saif Ali Khan’s 2013 zombie comedy, directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, remains one of his most memorable productions. That the actorfilmmaker is gearing up for Part 2.

Confirming this Saif said, “Yes, I’d like to make a sequel. We have just started talking about it. It’s premature to say anything. Some parts of the original film were really funny but some parts didn’t work. Hopefully we’ll get it all right this time. Let’s see how it plays out.”

Sources close to the development informs that all the characters from the original will return in the sequel with most of the actors, including Kunal Kemmu, Vir Das and Saif himself. “Raj and DK have shared the concept with Saif and he has really liked it. They are currently working on developing the script, which should be ready in a few months,” informs the source close to the development.

Meanwhile, Raj and DK are currently busy with the post-production of the Jacqueline Fernandez- Sidharth Malhotra starrer Reload, while Saif will be seen next in Kalakaandi which showcases Mumbai and its diversity through three different stories encompassing three different sections of society, their different lifestyle, attitudes and even language.

Even though Go Goa Gone didn’t work wonders at the ticket counter, Saif Ali Khan was so impressed with the film that he wanted to make a sequel to it. Now we hear that Khan is all set to go ahead with the sequel.

The cast of the sequel is the same as in the original, including Kunal Khemu, Veer Das and Anand Tiwari along with Khan. Director-duo Krishna DK and Raj Nidimoru have already started working on the script and the film is expected to go on the floors in the second half of 2017.

Actor Vir Das says a sequel to his zombie comedy film “Go Goa Gone” might happen next year.

“Go Goa Gone” was a 2013 zombie thriller featuring Saif Ali Khan along with Kunal Khemu, Das and Puja Gupta.

Post the success of the film, there were talks about a sequel with aliens as the backdrop.

“There are talks about the sequel, ideas are floating around. If it has to start then it has to be soon. I think if it happens it will happen next year,” Vir said.

“Go Goa Gone” was the story of three friends who, while in Goa, decide to visit an isolated island for a rave party. But next morning, they find themselves stranded and also surrounded by flesh-eating zombies.

Co-directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D K, the movie produced by Saif.

Saif Ali Khan doesn’t do things in half measure. When he had to play a Russian mafia man in Go Goa Gone, he dyed his hair a disgustingly perfect and striking blonde. The movie and Saif’s character were a barrel of laughs. Goes to show us that yes, blondes do have more fun.
