Sonakshi Sinha-Saif Ali Khan in Anurag Basu’s next

Anurag Basu’s forthcoming film is about four inter-connected stories based in a metropolitan city. As many as seven prominent actors are playing the characters.

Kareena Kapoor Khan was the original choice for the female lead. But a source tells us, “Bebo has already signed Karan Johar’s Good News, which rolls around the same time, so she had to decline Anurag’s offer. Then, Kangana Ranaut was approached for the same. She decided to do his i instead with Rajkummar Rao and told her mentor-director that she won’t be able to do this movie.”

Now, the makers have finally zeroed in on Sonakshi Sinha. The source adds, “She was given a narration and offered the role two weeks ago. The Dabangg actress has signed on the dotted line.” This will be the second time that Sona and Saif will share screen space after Bullett Raja (2013). “They aren’t paired opposite each other but will have some scenes together,” informs the khabri.

A source close to the Anurag Basu’s next project has revealed that it will be a great blend of different actors coming together. From what it has been learned, the star cast of the Anurag Basu’s next includes Saif Ali Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu and Ishaan Khatter in the lead. Furthermore, the makers are currently on a lookout to rope in another actress for the film.

Now, Mirror has learnt that the Aanand L Rai production, being directed by NH10 director Navdeep Singh, has a new addition to the cast.

Sonakshi Sinha has now been roped in and has already begun fi lming in Rajasthan where a major portion the fi lm will be shot. A source close to the development says, “Sonakshi will be playing an interesting cameo in the yet untitled film. She is the surprise element which is why the makers are keeping her part and look tightly under wraps for now.”
